What are FL-41 Glasses
FL-41 glasses, usually referred as migraine glasses, reduce the intensity of fluorescent light. Using a proprietary rose color tint, we allow people to get the light filtering they need without compromising visibility.
A recent study shows that 88% of individuals who use FL-41 glasses reduced their light impact symptoms and 87% reported a reduction in headaches.
FL-41 Lens Technology
FL-41 lenses are ultimately made by tinting the lens material using a BPI propriety tint. The Lens is tinted and tested using a spectrometer to ensure the required wavelengths are being blocked. We can add FL-41 tint to any lens, prescription strength and type. Never sacrifice your glasses look and feel because of your photophobia condition.
Additionally, to maximize your lens performance, Overnight Glasses adds multiple coating layers portrayed in the image below.

Have Questions About Choosing the
Right Frames for Migraine Relief?
If you’re ordering a new frame, and want to make the most out of light sensitivity technology, there are some important things to consider. While we can convert any almost frame into FL-41 tinted glasses, not all styles work as well with this technology as others.
Our proprietary ordering form will take care of the hard stuff by matching the best lenses for your prescription.
On your side, you need to make sure that the lenses you select are large enough to cover your eyes and provide enough protection to work as migraine glasses. Both the lens width and height must be adequate. Small lenses might look fashionable, but will defeat the main purpose which is to reduce light transmittance.
Below you’ll find a break down of the most popular frame options.
Flatter frames
(For Daily Standard Protection)
Flatter frames, such as frames with lens curves of 2-5, are great for daily standard protection. This type of eyewear is highly adaptable which enables us to fit almost any type of prescription lens within them. However, some light will penetrate from the side of the frame, so we don’t recommend this type for highly sensitive individuals. If just a small amount of light will trigger a migraine, then we recommend using a full wrap frame with gaskets.
Curved Frames
(For Max Peripheral Light Sensitivity Protection)
Curved wrap frames, with curves from 6-10, provide additional protection from light that would otherwise enter through the sides of other frame styles. The additional light protection enables curved wrap frames to perform better as migraine glasses. For complete protection, you may also add gaskets made from rubber or foam.
Rimless frames
(For Lens Size Flexibility)
Taking advantage of light-sensitive eyewear doesn't have to mean losing out on lightweight, rimless glasses. If this is the lense style you prefer, we've got you covered. we can even control the lens size to make sure it has enough width and length. Simply select from our new frames inventory and choose an FL-41 tint package.
Notice
Do not self-diagnose your condition. If you suspect something underlying that may be causing your light sensitivity it is important to consult with an optometrist to rule out conditions that may require professional treatment. If it is determined that you are a candidate for FL-41 lenses, you should also get a professional opinion about whether you should opt for standard coverage or if you'll need peripheral coverage. As well, please consult your eye care practitioner if FL-41 glasses will help with your condition before purchasing.
