Photochromic lenses can vary in darkness from 45% to 87%, change from clear to dark in 1 to 6 minutes, and have a residual tint ranging from 2% to 30% when not activated. These variations impact their performance in sunlight, response time to changing light conditions, and appearance when indoors.

Transitions Light Intelligent Lenses work by reacting to UV light. The amount of UV light present will determine the shade of your lenses. This is what allows them to let you see life with just the right amount of light.

Transitions Light Intelligent Lenses are available in a variety of materials to suit different prescription strengths and lifestyle needs. You can choose from standard 1.50 index lenses, durable Polycarbonate, 1.67 high index for stronger prescriptions, 1.74 ultra-high index for the thinnest possible lenses, and lightweight Trivex for impact resistance. This range ensures compatibility with various frame styles and prescription requirements.

Transitions prescription lenses from Overnight Glasses starts at $182 for 1.50 lenses with premium Anti-glare, easy-clean, UV and scratch protective coatings.

Transitions lenses can be cleaned like most lenses – with a lens cleaner, mild soap, or microfiber lens cleaning cloth. Do not use window cleaner to clean your prescription eyeglasses, as it contains chemical that could break down the coatings on your lenses. You should also be careful not to wipe your lenses with a surface that could potentially scratch your lenses, for instance, a facial tissue or paper towel.

Yes, you can wear Transitions lenses at night with the exception of Transitions Drivewear, which are sunglasses. Transitions Signature GEN 8, Transitions XtraActive new generation, and Transitions XtraActive Polarized are clear at night and indoors.

Transitions Signature GEN 8 lenses are fully clear indoors and Transitions XtraActive new generation and Transitions XtraActive Polarized are clear with a slight hint of tint indoors.

We can add Transitions® Light Intelligent Lenses™ onto your frames . It’s not possible to add Transitions Light Intelligent Lenses on top of your existing lenses.
